How Much is roughcast?
When you consider how long good quality roughcast lasts it offers a very affordable alternative to painting your home which will probably need redone after a year or two and also doesn’t provide great protection against Scotland’s cold wet environment. The price can vary from job to job however the amount of square metres, scope of work and if there is challenging access requirements would all affect the price.
Roughcast VS smooth render
Roughcast involves mixing aggregates with cement and is then cast against the external walls to give a coarse protective finish, the colour can change depending on the colour of aggregates used. Smooth render is more expensive than roughcast but gives a beautiful smooth finish typically in white however the colour can be changed.

Good quality roughcast can last decades, or even longer without the need to be replaced. You will find cheaper solutions like painting or wall coating aren’t as hard wearing as roughcast and you will eventually end up replacing it anyway. How long does roughcast take?
It really depends on the size of your home or building however we can finish normal sized houses within a matter of days usually. Roughcast can be affected by low temperatures, so if you are looking to have work done during the winter it will be subject to weather.
